Bethany Reid (b. 2002) is an artist whose work investigates the intricate dynamics of the human-animal relationship, focusing on its exploitation and the artist’s responsibility in advocating for animal welfare and environmentalism. Drawing inspiration from influential thinkers such as Peter Singer, George Monbiot, and Edward O. Wilson, she explores themes of ethics, ecology, and humanity’s role within the natural world.
Her practice centers on sculptural animal forms and immersive installation settings, crafted from recycled and discarded materials. Through her thought-provoking creations, Bethany aims to challenge perceptions, inspire dialogue, and encourage reflection on the ethical complexities of the human-animal relationship. Her work serves as both a call to action and an invitation for viewers to reconsider their connections to the natural world.
